Offshore Data Collection and Analysis Projects
- Baseline surveys for Kapok and Cassia offshore fields (2003), which were conducted off the southeast coast of Trinidad for bpTT. Analysis of data for use in operational procedures and EIA. The data collected for the baseline surveys are as follows:
- Water Quality Survey – surface, middle and bottom depths offshore
- Sediment Quality Survey – Surficial Sediments collected offshore

- Baseline survey for the Hibiscus offshore area (2005), which was conducted 35km north off the First Bocas on the north coast of Trinidad within the North Coast Marine Area (NCMA) for British Gas Trinidad Limited. Analysis of data for use in operational procedures and EIA.The data collected for this baseline survey are as follows:
- Water Quality Survey – surface, middle and bottom depths offshore
- Sediment Quality Survey – Surficial Sediments collected offshore
- Conductivity, Temperature and Density Data for the offshore area
- Macrobenthic Survey of the offshore area
- Meiobenthic Survey of the offshore area
- Deployment of a downward looking Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler.
- Deployment of a current meter mooring in 250m of water off the east coast of Trinidad in 2005 - 2006. Instruments included a 150kHz ADCP and a Nortek Single Point current meter. The client was Canadian Superior Energy Industries. Analysis of data for use in operational procedures and EIA.
- Deployment of two (2) OSI HIF Current Meters in 140m of water within the North Coast Marine Area (NCMA) for British Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago. Analysis of data for use in operational procedures and EIAs.
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) & Environmental Data Collection Projects
Within the coastal areas around Trinidad and Tobago, Coastal Dynamics has conducted several Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and environmental data collection projects for the oil and gas industries including the following:
- Presently conducting an EIA for a shoreline protection plan for Guapo Beach in Point Fortin for the Atlantic LNG Company of Trinidad and Tobago. (2005 – present)
- Provided modelling and data collection services to an EIA conducted for the Atlantic LNG Train 4 Project in the Point Fortin area.
- Monitoring of marine environment for the pre-construction, construction (dredging) and post construction phases for Atlantic LNG Company of Trinidad and Tobago, Point Fortin Port Site – 2003-2005.
- Determination of environmental impacts and mitigation measures for dredging activities and land reclamation for the establishment of port facilities for Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited at Point Lisas.
- Review of oceanographic conditions for the Gulf of Paria for British Gas Trinidad Limited for future pipe laying activities from the Hibiscus Field on the North Coast of Trinidad.
- Research on the physical oceanography of the Chaguaramas marine areas as part of a larger study on the impacts of the yachting industry at Chaguaramas, Trinidad.
- Conducting Oceanographic surveys to advise a Management plan for the Speyside Marine Parks Area, Tobago.
- Oceanographic and Benthic Ecology Studies on dredging and land reclamation activities for the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (PATT) at Port of Spain.
- Report on sea state and weather conditions for the East Coast of Trinidad to advise the marine operations conducted by Exxon Exploration and Production Trinidad Limited.
- Oceanographic and meteorological surveys on the North Cost of Trinidad to advise British Gas Trinidad Limited marine operations.
