The science of prediction of the ocean environmental requires the acquisition of varied data types spanning diverse fields. As such, Coastal Dynamics is dedicated to achieving a better understanding of the ocean environment by interacting with other disciplines. Coastal Dynamics operates as part of a multidisciplinary approach to addressing coastal environmental issues. Coastal Dynamics has access to a wide range of state-of the art oceanographic instrumentation and has expertise in a variety of marine deployments including deep water surveys. OUR LIST OF SERVICES INCLUDES:
3D Forecast Model NEW!Coastal Dynamics has a new operational 3D forecast model for Trinidad and Tobago. The model is Danish Hydraulics Institute (DHI) MIKE3 Flexible Mesh (FM) hydrodynamic model. The system provides 7.5 day forecasts and publishes the data in a web page format. In addition the hindcast data is archived and is available for use by anyone wishing to have current and tide data within the model region. Click here for more details and screenshots
Marine Environmental SurveysCoastal Dynamics can conduct marine environmental surveys in shallow and deep water to support Environmental Impact surveys, marine oil/gas exploration, navigation and effluent outfall designs. We can deploy current meters or Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs) to obtain current speeds and directions at single points or throughout the water column. In order to enhance our predictive capabilities we can also collect Meteorological and Hydrographic data. At Coastal Dynamics, we are committed to bringing you cost-effective, marine environmental solutions.
Benthic SurveysOur data collection services include complete Benthic Surveys of nearshore and offshore marine environments. These surveys are critical to most marine Environmental Impact Statements or Assessments because the diversity of marine species in an area reflects the status of the environment.
Numerical ModellingNumerical Models are widely utilized and can be adapted to most coastal regions using basic oceanographic parameters. All modeling routines are supplemented by field investigations for calibration and validation of the model output to assure the reliability of the data. The consulting partners of Coastal Dynamics have worked extensively in Trinidad and Tobago and have the regional oceanographic knowledge that is imperative to the analysis of model simulations. Our Modelling services included: - Circulation
